Journey of Water – 4th Edition
💧 A Walk for Water, Peace & Sustainability
We’re thrilled to announce the 4th Edition of the Journey of Water, a signature transboundary water awareness campaign that follows the path of a river to help us reconnect with our most precious natural resource — water.
This year’s journey takes us through River Kimengelia – Noolturesh River Basin, covering over 23 km from the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya to the edge of Tsavo National Park, uniting voices from both Kenya and Tanzania
🤝 A Powerful Cross-Border Collaboration
This year’s campaign is more than a walk—it’s a movement. It brings together a rich diversity of stakeholders, including:
- WRUA members and community water champions
- Youth, schools, and environmental clubs
- Local and national government water officers
- NGOs and development partners
- Water users and concerned citizens
Together, we walk to demonstrate one clear truth: “Water knows no borders — and it can unite us for peace, sustainability, and coexistence.”
🎤 Special Highlights
- Courtesy Visit: In preparation for the event, KeNAWRUA’s CEO Enock T. Kiminta, the Water Resources Authority, and the WWF-Kenya team visited H.E. Governor Joseph Ole Lenku (EGH) of Kajiado County.
- Flag-Off & Closing Dialogue: The Governor has graciously committed to officiating the flag-off ceremony on Day 1, and will join the closing dialogue session on Day 3, where stakeholders will share key findings and a call to action.
